VC Firm Targets Patents, Raises $350M: Report

Law360, New York (November 21, 2004, 12:00 AM EST) -- A venture capital firm headed by former Microsoft executives is buying patents that could pose legal threats to its powerful high-tech investors, according to a published report.

Former Microsoft chief strategist and chief technology officer Nathan Myhrvold has raised $350 million from some of the largest companies in the high-tech industry in an effort to amass a huge portfolio of patents, Newsweek reports in its latest issue.
