Facebook Patent Invalid, Phoenix Media Says

Law360, New York (August 01, 2011, 5:48 PM ET) -- Phoenix Media/Communications Group Inc. on Friday asked a Massachusetts federal court for summary judgment in a patent infringement suit filed by Facebook Inc., arguing that one of the two patents the social networking giant has asserted is invalid.

The technology claimed by the patent, which covers a system for managing information, was widely in use when the patent application was filed in 1998, Phoenix Media claims.
