Sanofi Fights To Hang On To Eloxatin

Law360, New York (June 15, 2007, 12:00 AM ET) -- In a move to defend its claim to the U.S. market, Sanofi-Aventis U.S. LLC sued Sandoz Inc. Thursday for allegedly infringing a patent for its popular colon cancer drug, which a handful of other countries have already rejected.

The New Jersey district court case says that Sandoz filed an Abbreviated New Drug Application with the Food and Drug Administration for a generic version of oxaliplatin, which Sanofi holds the patents for and markets as Eloxatin.
