Banks Seek To Invalidate DataTreasury's Patents

Law360, New York (June 18, 2007, 12:00 AM ET) -- Two banks have denied violating patents in a lawsuit launched by check-processing company DataTreasury Corp. against more than 50 defendants, asserting its intellectual property in the banking industry.

UnionBanCal Corp. and HSBC North America Holdings Inc. on Friday responded to DataTreasury's amended complaint, which accuses the banks of willfully trampling six patents it obtained between 1993 and 2000, by lodging counterclaims of their own.
