7 States Join DOJ Bid To Block AT&T, T-Mobile Deal

Law360, New York (September 16, 2011, 5:46 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Justice said Friday that seven states — including New York, California and Illinois — had joined its lawsuit seeking to block AT&T Inc.'s proposed $39 billion acquisition of T-Mobile USA Inc.

The DOJ filed an amended complaint Friday in Washington federal court, adding the firepower of seven states — also including Washington, Ohio, Massachusetts and Pennsylvania — to the action claiming that the proposed tie-up would violate U.S. antitrust laws.
