EU Lawmakers Pass Palestinian Agriculture Trade Deal

Law360, New York (September 27, 2011, 6:54 PM EDT) -- European Union lawmakers on Tuesday passed a trade deal with the Palestinian government lifting almost all EU tariffs on agricultural and fishery exports from the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.

The vote, which clears the way for the agreement to take effect early next year, came as debate over the Palestinian Authority's recent bid for nation status at the United Nations continued, receiving support Tuesday from some members of the European Parliament.
