Law360, New York (November 03, 2011, 12:52 PM ET) -- A New York federal judge on Wednesday refused to overturn the conviction of Sky Capital LLC founder Ross Mandell, who was found guilty in July of running a $140 million investment scheme.
U.S. District Judge Paul A. Crotty said he had no trouble seeing how the jury could convict Mandell based on the government's accusations and that the defendant's attempts to rationalize and explain his behavior did nothing to alter the truth — that he lied to investors to get their money.
