Conflict Remains As EU Readies Vote On Treaty

Law360, New York (July 9, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Despite the recent controversy over omitted language related to competition in the EU, the European Parliament is expected to approve the Reform Treaty that, if voted in by member states, will replace the failed European Constitution.

The European Parliament will vote on the treaty on July 11. If approved, the European Union will be one step closer to replacing the constitution that was voted down by France and the Netherlands two years ago.
