BHP Begins $917M Aussie Harbor Project

Law360, New York (February 2, 2012, 2:23 PM EST) -- Global resources firm BHP Billiton has secured $917 million in funding for the construction of a harbor that will be a major shipping hub for the company’s iron operations in Western Australia, BHP announced Thursday.

BHP received preliminary approval for the development of a harbor that will handle 100 million metric tons per year of iron ore from the Pilbara region.
