Upstate NY Could Cash In On $26B Tax Cut, Schumer Says

Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., touted a $26 billion Democratic tax cut proposal Wednesday, saying the legislation would let small-business owners in the Empire State's economically challenged northern counties write off equipment purchases and take juicy credits for new hires.

In an appearance in Livingston County, N.Y., south of Rochester, Schumer said the proposal could reduce the tax burden of small businesses by up to $500,000 and would make it easier for them to hire more workers in 2012.
