Calif. Judge OKs Receiver To Oversee MPG Skyscraper

Law360, Los Angeles (April 20, 2012, 4:33 PM EDT) -- A California state judge on Friday confirmed the appointment of a receiver to handle financial operations of a 54-story office skyscraper in downtown Los Angeles after the building's owner, MPG Office Trust Inc., defaulted on a $470 million loan.

Judge Debre Katz Weintraub approved the appointment of William Howell, who previously was appointed receiver on behalf of trustee U.S. Bank NA via an ex-parte application late last month.

MPG, which didn't object to the appointment, declined to comment.
