Law360, New York (May 04, 2012, 3:27 PM ET) -- The federal government and Akron, Ohio, on Thursday filed a joint consent decree that could cost the city $897 million and would resolve long-standing problems with the city’s sewer system that had caused Clean Water Act violations.
The deal would improve Akron’s sewage collection system and wastewater treatment plant, reducing its system overflows and improving water quality, the two sides said in the motion to enter the decree.
