GdF, Suez Agree To New Merger Terms

Law360, New York (September 4, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- After months of negotiations, the boards of directors of energy companies Suez SA and Gaz de France SA have agreed to a new merger outline, the companies said Monday.

The boards voted on Sunday to approve the deal, which will create a new energy company with an estimated market capitalization of €90 billion ($122.5 billion) and revenues of €72 billion ($98 billion). The new company, GDF Suez, will be a global leader in the gas and electricity sectors, the companies said.
