Congress May Take Up Patent Reform Bill By Friday

Law360, New York (September 4, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Congress has signaled that the controversial Patent Reform Act of 2007 is likely to come up for a House vote by the end of the week.

The House Rules Committee has announced that it expects to meet on Thursday afternoon to discuss procedures for H.R. 1908, the Patent Reform Act, which means that the legislation will likely come up for a vote by Friday or Monday.

The committee also noted that any amendments to the bill are due by 5:00 p.m. Wednesday.
