US-Colombia Free Trade Pact Goes Into Full Swing

Law360, New York (May 14, 2012, 7:49 PM EDT) -- The U.S.-Colombia free trade agreement enters into full force Tuesday, topping off years of work by both countries to secure the pact’s implementation.

The office of U.S. Trade Representative Ron Kirk took the occasion to herald the agreement, saying it will provide a boost to U.S. employment.

“The U.S.-Colombia trade agreement will help to support more jobs here at home by providing additional opportunities for U.S. exporters to sell more goods and services to Colombia, the third-largest Latin American economy,” Kirk’s office said in a statement....
