FTC Asks House To Extend Foreign Fraud Enforcement Tools

Law360, New York (July 12, 2012, 2:00 PM EDT) -- The Federal Trade Commission pressed Congress on Thursday to reauthorize fraud enforcement provisions that allow the regulator to share information with foreign counterparts.

Hugh G. Stevenson of the FTC's Office of International Affairs told the House subcommittee on commerce, manufacturing and trade that it was critical to reauthorize the Undertaking Spam, Spyware and Fraud Enforcement With Enforcers Beyond Borders Act of 2006 before the bill expires in December 2013.
