Law360, New York (July 16, 2012, 9:49 PM ET) -- An Alabama federal judge on Monday sentenced an Alabama casino operator convicted of bribing lawmakers to vote for pro-gambling legislation to more than 6½ years in prison.
U.S. District Judge Myron H. Thompson sentenced Ronald Gilley, 47, who had faced a maximum of 27 years in prison when he pled guilty in April 2011 to 11 counts of conspiracy and aiding bribery and money laundering, to 80 months in prison, according to a statement by Alabama prosecutors Monday.
