ITC Judge Rejects Samsung's Bid To Ban IPhone Imports

Law360, New York (September 14, 2012, 4:38 PM EDT) -- A U.S. International Trade Commission judge on Friday shot down Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd.'s bid to bar imports of Apple Inc.'s iPhone and iPad, ruling Apple had not infringed four Samsung mobile communications patents.

In his initial determination, Administrative Law Judge E. James Gildea wrote that for each of the four patents, "it is held that no violation of Section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930 has occurred" and that a domestic industry does not exist that practices any of the patents.
