ITC Lifts Dumping Duties On Silicomanganese From Brazil

Law360, New York (October 11, 2012, 1:18 PM EDT) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission voted Thursday to remove anti-dumping duties placed on  imports of the steelmaking component silicomanganese from Brazil, but renewed similar tariffs placed on China and Ukraine.

The commissioners voted 4-1 to remove the protective measures on Brazilian silicomanganese, used as a deoxidizer and an alloying element in steel production, following a regularly scheduled sunset review to determine if domestic producers still needed the duties. One commissioner did not vote.
