ITC To Examine Anbess, Others Over Phone Case Designs

Law360, New York (November 9, 2012, 6:29 PM EST) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission said Friday that it will investigate whether Anbess Electronics Co. Ltd and others have been ripping off Speck Products' patented design for cases used to protect smartphones, tablet computers and other mobile devices.

The ITC's investigation will examine whether the Chinese e-commerce giant and six other foreign and domestic entities have violated Section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930 by importing mobile device cases that infringe U.S. Patent Number 8,204,561.
