Consol Bids $44M To Frack At Pittsburgh Airports

Law360, Philadelphia (December 5, 2012, 6:11 PM EST) -- Pittsburgh’s regional airport authority Wednesday received a $44 million bid from Consol Energy and a $21 million bid from EQT Production Co. to drill for natural gas on airport lands, four years after an earlier attempt to offer drilling leases received no takers.

Both energy companies submitted bids to the Allegheny County Airport Authority to drill on the 9,263 acres at Pittsburgh International and Allegheny County airports, according to JoAnn Jenny, director of communications for the authority.
