Calif. City Officials Never Asked for Anything Illegal: Clerk

Law360, Los Angeles (January 29, 2013, 4:05 PM EST) -- Six former Bell, Calif., councilmembers on trial for corruption never asked City Clerk Rebecca Valdez to do anything improper and no one, including the city attorney, ever advised them their inflated salaries from four city boards were illegal, Valdez testified Tuesday.
