Law360, New York (February 22, 2013, 8:19 PM ET) -- New Jersey lawmakers on Thursday proposed a faster process for the state and local governments to award competitive contracts for emergency relief in the wake of a disaster.
The bill, S2584, sponsored by gubernatorial candidate Sen. Barbara Buono, D-Middlesex County, and Sen. Linda R. Greenstein, D-Mercer and Middlesex counties, would create an expedited competitive contracting process for the purchase of goods or services connected with a governor-declared state of emergency.
