Ex-Health Care Boss Found Guilty In $63M Medicare Fraud

Law360, New York (April 25, 2013, 6:56 PM EDT) -- A Florida federal jury on Thursday convicted a former Health Care Solutions Network Inc. supervisor of conspiring in a $63 million Medicare and Medicaid scheme in which the mental health care provider allegedly paid kickbacks in exchange for unnecessary patient referrals.

Wondera Eason, 51, was found guilty of conspiracy to commit health care fraud for her alleged involvement in the seven-year plot that provided kickbacks for patient referrals to three locations in Florida and North Carolina, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.
