Ex-Texas High Court Clerk Nets Jail Time For Lifting Funds

Law360, New York (May 22, 2013, 1:29 PM EDT) -- A former Texas Supreme Court clerk has been sentenced to 10 years probation and 180 days in prison for stealing money from an account the State Bar of Texas used to reimburse attorneys who overpaid their annual dues, the agency announced Monday.

Kathleen M. Holder, 52, pled guilty to felony theft in the first degree and must repay $74,000 to the State Bar of Texas, which has already been reimbursed $482,030 by its insurance carrier, the agency said. She is scheduled to report to jail on...
