Employee Contractor Pleads Guilty In Mayer Brown Fraud Case

Law360, Chicago (June 5, 2013, 5:35 PM EDT) -- The one-time head of a contract-employee business pled guilty Wednesday in Illinois federal court to working with a former Mayer Brown LLP chief information officer to victimize the firm in a billing and kickback scheme.

Nicholas Demars, president of now-defunct company NS Mater, entered a plea agreement with prosecutors in which he copped to one count of having defrauded and deprived the victim law firm of the intangible right to the honest service of his co-defendant, former Mayer Brown chief information officer David Tresch, through kickbacks....
