Knowles Files ITC Complaint Over Microphone Patents

Law360, New York (June 25, 2013, 1:35 PM EDT) -- Acoustic components maker Knowles Electronics LLC filed a complaint with the U.S. International Trade Commission last week accusing competitor GoerTek Inc. of importing patent-infringing silicon microphone packages used in headsets and earphones.

Knowles, a division of Dover Corp., claims several GoerTek products currently offered in the U.S. violate its patent-protected process for high-volume manufacturing of microphone packages. The complaint requests the ITC take up an investigation and seeks cease-and-desist and exclusion orders that would block entry of patent-infringing GoerTek products.
