Sony, LG, Others Sued In ITC Over Networking Patents

Law360, New York (August 2, 2013, 2:18 PM EDT) -- Sony Corp., LG Electronics Inc., Toshiba Corp. and others were named in a complaint filed Thursday in the U.S. International Trade Commission and accused by a Virginia-based company of selling consumer electronics that infringe patents covering point-to-point network communication technology.

Straight Path IP Group Inc. claims the companies have violated U.S. trade law by importing devices that infringe three of its patents. The complaint targets smartphone handsets, tablet computers, e-readers, smart TVs, gaming consoles, Blu-ray players, set-top boxes and other products.
