DOC Finds Unfair Subsidies For Italian Pasta Brands

Law360, Los Angeles (August 12, 2013, 6:01 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Commerce is reviewing duties on certain brands of pasta from Italy, preliminarily finding that Molino e Pastificio Tomasello SpA, Delverde Industrie Alimentari SpA and Valdigrano di Flavio Pagani SrL received unfair subsidies in 2011, according to a document to be published this week.

According to a paper scheduled to be published Tuesday in the Federal Register but currently available online, the DOC's International Trade Administration indicated that the Italian pasta companies did receive the subsidies. The ITA invited “interested parties” to comment...
