Christie's Was Reckless With Art During Sandy, Insurer Says

Law360, New York (August 15, 2013, 7:00 PM ET) -- AXA Art Insurance Corp. filed a searing complaint against the art storage arm of famed auction house Christie's Inc. on Thursday, telling a New York state court that the storage provider's "wanton neglect" allowed Superstorm Sandy to severely damage a policyholder's art collection.

Christie's Fine Art Storage Services Inc. claimed to be the "world's premier storage provider" for fine art with "fail-safe facilities," but the company did little to protect the Jacqueline Piatigorsky Revocable Trust's art collection, AXA claimed.
