Utah ISP Says NobelBiz IP Suit Doesn't Belong in Calif.

Law360, San Francisco (August 20, 2013, 8:37 PM ET) -- A Utah Internet service provider urged a California federal judge on Tuesday to toss telecom provider NobelBiz Inc.'s lawsuit accusing it of patent infringement on technology related to automated telephone calls, arguing that the court doesn't have jurisdiction over the Provo-based business.

U.S. District Court Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers asked NobelBiz's attorney repeatedly during Tuesday's hearing to provide evidence that Veracity Networks has any business outside Utah — specifically within California – that would give her authority over the patent feud.
