NJ Adopts Medicaid Rule Excluding Recent Immigrants

Law360, New York (September 06, 2013, 7:11 PM ET) -- The New Jersey Department of Human Services on Tuesday formally adopted rules to exclude recent immigrants from a state Medicaid program, after an appellate panel ruled the policy was not unconstitutional.

According to a Tuesday announcement in the New Jersey Register, the DHS has officially stopped accepting low-income legal immigrants into the NJ FamilyCare Program if they have been in the country for less than five years on Sept. 1.
