Waste Management Ducks Enviro Suit Over St. Louis Landfill

Law360, New York (September 30, 2013, 1:22 PM ET) -- An Illinois federal judge on Friday shut down a bird-watching group’s effort to derail a proposed Waste Management Inc. landfill close to St. Louis, ruling the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers had no duty to assess the environmental consequences of a project when its ultimate licensing determination lay elsewhere.
