DOJ's Antitrust Probe Of Dow Is Over, Co. Reveals

Law360, New York (February 20, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- The Department of Justice ended its investigation late last year into whether Dow Chemical Co. was involved in a polyurethane chemical cartel, the company revealed Tuesday in its annual Securities and Exchange Commission report.

According to its SEC 10-K filing, the DOJ had stopped investigating the company's role in possible antitrust activities on Dec. 20, 2007.

“The DOJ conducted a thorough investigation and decided that there was no reason to pursue the matter any further,” a Dow spokesperson said.
