Former NJ Democratic Official Denies Racketeering

Law360, New York (September 30, 2013, 4:28 PM ET) -- Onetime New Jersey political power broker Joseph A. Ferriero pled not guilty Monday to charges that he abused his clout as head of the Bergen County Democratic Organization to profit from schemes involving kickbacks, bribery and extortion.

Ferriero, once an attorney with Scarinci Hollenbeck LLC, entered that plea before U.S. Judge Esther Salas in Newark.
