TPP May Someday Include China, NZ Trade Minister Says

Law360, New York (October 17, 2013, 6:47 PM EDT) -- New Zealand's trade minister said Wednesday that any expansion of the proposed Trans-Pacific Partnership into a potentially broader free trade area in the Asia-Pacific region would “by definition” have to include China eventually.

Speaking at an event hosted by the Auckland Chamber of Commerce, New Zealand Trade Minister Tim Groser said China has become “increasingly positive” toward the TPP talks underway between New Zealand and 11 other Pacific Rim countries, including the U.S.
