ITC To Probe Infringement Claims Over Sonar Fish Finders

Law360, New York (November 07, 2013, 11:48 AM ET) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission on Wednesday announced that it has opened an investigation into whether fishing equipment company Raymarine UK Ltd. has flouted international trade laws by importing high-resolution sonar imaging devices that infringe a pair of patents held by Navico Inc.

Tulsa, Okla.-based Navico filed a petition with the ITC in September alleging that underwater fish finders sold by U.K.-based Raymarine are unlawfully employing Navico's proprietary technology in violation of Section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930. It has requested an exclusion order...
