Baltimore Stripper Wins Back Pay In Employment Status Suit

Law360, Los Angeles (November 08, 2013, 4:24 PM ET) -- A Maryland federal judge on Thursday ruled that a Baltimore stripper was wrongly classified as an independent contractor by her strip club and is entitled to back pay and damages under the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Norma Jean’s Nite Club, owned by PP&G Inc., had claimed that all of its strippers were offered to be employees or contractors and none chose to be employees. But U.S. District Judge William M.
