Pa. AG Calls Sandusky's Supreme Court Appeal Meritless

Law360, Philadelphia (November 14, 2013, 1:31 PM EST) -- Pennsylvania prosecutors told the state’s Supreme Court on Wednesday that former Pennsylvania State University assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky’s request for an appeal of his conviction on 45 counts of child molestation was meritless.

Responding to Sandusky’s Nov. 1 petition, Attorney General Kathleen Kane argued that Sandusky had not offered any reason for the high court to grant him a new trial. He is currently serving a 30- to 60-year sentence.

The state’s Superior Court upheld Sandusky’s conviction in October.
