Japanese Real Estate Firm Enters NY With $210M Property

Law360, New York (December 13, 2013, 7:22 PM EST) -- Japanese real estate company Jowa Holdings Co. Ltd. is in contract to purchase 440 Ninth Ave. from owners Sherwood Equities Inc. and Paramount Group Inc. for more than $210 million, a source close to the deal told Law360 on Friday.

The transaction for the 400,000-square-foot property, which will be Jowa's first in New York, is expected to close next week, the source said.

The building is home to B&H Photo, which occupies about 150,000 square feet, and Uncle Jack's Steakhouse on the ground floor.
