Hundreds Sickened On Royal Caribbean Ship

Law360, New York (January 27, 2014, 6:34 PM EST) -- Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. decided Sunday to cut a 10-day cruise short after more than 600 passengers and crew members contracted a gastrointestinal illness that physicians have suggested is norovirus.

Of the 3,050 passengers aboard the Explorer of the Seas ship, 577 have reported illnesses, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Forty-nine of the 1,165 crew on board have also become sick, it said.
