NLRB Orders Co. To Rescind Overbroad Confidentiality Policy

Law360, New York (February 7, 2014, 7:50 PM EST) -- The National Labor Relations Board upheld on Thursday a decision that IT solutions provider MCPc Inc.'s confidentiality policy, which forbade employees from internally disseminating confidential information, ran afoul of federal labor law.

The labor board affirmed an administrative law judge's June 2012 finding that the policy was too broad to pass muster under the National Labor Relations Act, and that the company had further violated the law by firing an engineer for engaging in activities protected by the statute.
