Matsushita Sues Samsung Over DRAM Patents

Law360, New York (January 31, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- In the latest chapter in a drawn-out battle fought in courtrooms on two continents, Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. has sued Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. in a Texas federal court, accusing the South Korean rival of infringing patents for memory chip technology.

A Matsushita spokesman in Tokyo said the patents at issue were related to technology for controlling dynamic random access memory (DRAM) chips, according to a report by Reuters. Matsushita is seeking unspecified monetary damages.
