Fla. Sports Stadium Bill Rides Out Of 1st Senate Committee

Law360, Miami (March 24, 2014, 8:07 PM EDT) -- The Florida Senate took the first step Monday toward passing a centralized, competitive program to distribute sales tax revenue for major sports facility construction and renovations, as the Commerce and Tourism Committee unanimously approved S.B. 1216 after weighing in on several amendments.

Bill sponsor Sen. Jack Latvala, R-Clearwater, told the panel that the Florida House expressed in conversations that does not want to pass legislation approving distributions for individual stadium projects.
