Ex-Fortinet Execs Get Poaching, Trade Secrets Claims Stayed

Law360, San Francisco (March 27, 2014, 9:14 PM ET) -- A California federal judge on Thursday partially stayed network-security company Fortinet Inc.'s claims that two former executives breached their contracts by poaching employees and stole trade secrets to launch rival Sophos Inc., but he also said Fortinet could pursue its trade secrets and patent-infringement claims against Sophos.
U.S. District Judge Edward Chen refused to fully grant Sophos' motion to halt all the nonpatent claims in Fortinet's case, which Sophos' attorney argued would save time while ex-Fortinet executives Michael Valentine and Jason Clark arbitrate Fortinet's claims. Fortinet...
