Clean Energy Act Could Make It Onto Calif. Ballot

Law360, New York (April 10, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- An initiative aimed at having half of California's electricity come from renewable energy sources by 2025 has come steps closer to being included on the state ballot, with its supporters submitting 735,000 signatures to county officials across the state.

The environmental group Californians for Solar Energy presented 41% more signatures than needed to county officials, in the hopes of landing the controversial Solar and Clean Energy Act of 2008 on the November ballot.
