Mister Softee Wins Freeze On 'Master Softee' Trucks

Law360, Los Angeles (June 05, 2014, 10:39 PM ET) -- A New York federal judge put a "Master Softee" truck operation on ice Thursday, ruling the company behind the iconic Mister Softee ice cream trucks would likely find sweet success in its claims that an ex-franchisee is selling soft-serve in violation of trademarks.

U.S. District Judge Laura Taylor Swain granted Mister Softee Inc.'s motion for a preliminary injunction after deciding that "an anthropomorphized waffle cone character with a blue jacket and red bow tie" featured on the competing trucks might confuse ice cream buyers.
