Obama Vows To Take Tougher Antitrust Stance: Report

Law360, New York (May 19, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- U.S. Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) has reportedly pledged to ramp up the nation’s antitrust policy if he becomes U.S. president and has voiced concerns over the continuing consolidation of the media industry.

Obama, who has criticized the current administration for being too lax on reviewing corporate mergers, told an Oregon audience on Sunday that he intends to make sure the antitrust division is “serious” about bringing cases, Reuters reported.
