Law360, New York (December 4, 2014, 11:30 AM EST) -- On Oct. 22, 2014, Pennsylvania Act 172 became law, establishing Pennsylvania's "Entity Transactions Law,"[1] a version of the Model Entity Transactions Act (META), which will streamline and make more uniform the way in which fundamental changes such as mergers and acquisitions affecting Pennsylvania corporations and other business associations will be accomplished. The act also adopted new provisions related to associations and significantly updated provisions regarding corporations and unincorporated associations (Title 15) and entity names (Title 54). The substantive provisions of the act will become effective July 1, 2015....
