Deals Rumor Mill: Verizon, Clear Channel, RadioShack

By Benjamin Horney (February 2, 2015, 6:18 PM EST) -- Verizon Communications Inc. is closing in on a handful of deals that will see it sell a number of assets, including cellphone towers and parts of its wireline business, for upwards of $10 billion in total, the Wall Street Journal reported on Monday. According to the report, the simultaneous deals will feature different buyers, and could be announced before the week is through. The sale is meant to help the telecommunications giant pay debt that it took on in connection with its $130 billion acquisition of British telecom company Vodafone PLC, the report said....
